Results of CodeVita Season 12 Round 1 will be declared shortly. It will combine participants from both Zones. We want to sensitize the participants on the yardsticks we have used in Plagiarism Detection.
It was clearly mentioned in Honour Code and through direct messaging that usage of Gen AI tools or any kind of logic generating tools are not to be used. Yet some participants have gone ahead and given attributions to Gen AI sites like https://chatgpt.com etc. Such participants have been filtered out and are not awarded any ranks
Some participants have uploaded the correct code for some questions to GitHub accounts or some other coding sites. They have then given attribution to those links. This is a clear violation of the spirit of attribution. Attribution is a facility provided to reuse parts of code, however the act of copying solutions Github or other sites while the contest is in progress is a clear intent to copy code. This is a gross misuse of goodwill that TCS offers in the form of allowing attribution and keeping CodeVita an open book contest. All such attributions are made null and void and whole code is submitted for plagiarism detection. All participants who failed the checks are filtered out and are not awarded ranks.
In an era where coding competitions are shut down due to arrival of code logic generation tools, TCS has put in a lot of rigour to keep the contest running for the benefit of students. It is our humble request to participants to keep the ecosystem clean or simply not participate as opposed to participating in a manner which violates the spirit of the competition.
